Adjunct Faculty Learning Community Application, Fall 2017

Use this form to apply to participate in the Fall 2017 Faculty Learning Community (FLC).   Deadline for applying is Thursday, August 31, 2017 at 3 pm.

The Faculty Learning Community for Adjunct Faculty at UNC Charlotte will be offered for Fall 2016. Here are some important facts about the FLC:

  • It will consist of monthly face-to-face meetings during the spring semester.  These meetings are required.
  • Participants will receive a $500 stipend for their participation.
  • The meetings will be Friday mornings from 10am-12pm on:  September 22, October 13, November 17, and December 1, 2017.
  • The meetings will focus on instruction and pedagogy, with the exact topics chosen by FLC members.
  • The FLC meetings will be facilitated by Kim Buch, a Faculty Fellow in the CTL with experience in learning communities and 2013 Bank of America Teaching Award recipient, and by Caryl Gordon of the CTL and adjunct faculty in American Studies.

Adjunct faculty who are also graduate students are NOT eligible to participate in this program.  (There are other support programs for graduate students who teach).
